This showcase features all new works by Ethan Boisvert, one of Connecticut’s most visible abstract artists. Since 2008, his paintings have evolved from large, bold work containing graphic patterns of synthesized modernist styles to a new variation of expression. These new works are spontaneous, with additions of mediums & surfaces using raw canvas, pastels, graphite, and made strictly by hand & brush. They appear in large and smaller formats showcasing surprise chaos verses structure. These new works provide depth in his concepts that are highly visceral and illicit intense emotional responses.
Obsession is something that Ethan fully embodies in his work. He creates new dynamics to keep his work fresh, and present. He draws from the unseen in life, and constantly challenges the bounds of reality. The composition of the work narrates the biography of a moment, and provides a discourse to contemporary art in the predominate ideals of structure, execution, and concept.
